what I got

for my birthday: the elevation that stays after conducting energies between good-hearted, visionary people. a cold. 4 hours sleep. time for breakfast at my favorite coffee joint. blue blue skies, and healing sun. two invitations to continue two profound soul-making conversations. dos abrazos fuertes, and an invite to share a meal soon. a most welcome affirmation: "fellow traveller". two kind phone calls, from friend and sister who knew. an easy night at work. a $4 tip from a college girl! And this sort-of-blessing, over the phone, from my grandmother (who said it with a smile, with a wry kindness): "I'm glad you're getting older. You don't have any choice, you know..."
